Annual Meeting - (3:30 - 5:00) Each year 6 new members and alternates are selected to serve on the Board of Directors for LPBC. The board consists of 12 members. Each board member serves for 2 years. To serve on the Board of Directors, a person must be an active member of Little Prairie Bible Camp, who has demonstrated his or her interest in the camp by being involved in the activities at camp. If you are a member of LPBC, please don’t miss this important meeting. If you are not a member, but have an interest in LPBC, please come and become a member at the meeting. Fund-Raising A
BIG THANKS to all who have contributed so much to help make LPBC what it is
today. This year has been a banner year for LPBC. Six major fund-raisers
have raised almost $20,000 for LPBC. All of these fund-raisers made it possible
to pay off our last loan. The camp is debt free. All facilities are paid
for. To this end, the Board of Directors, under the direction of Rick Prugh,
is well on its way to developing a Strategic Plan for LPBC. We want to be wise
in setting the direction for LPBC. The Strategic Plan can affect all aspects
of LPBC for the next 5, 10, 20.....years., so we ask for your prayers. We
solicit your input.

Site Maintenance Committee Report – Linda Roberts, ChairpersonDuring Family Work Camp this past May, 80 people came to Little Prairie Bible Camp to help prepare the facilities for the upcoming summer sessions. All of the camp’s facilities--multi-purpose gym area, cook’s quarters, multi-purpose bathrooms, laundry/storage area, nine cabins, director’s cabin, shower houses, craft facility, and chapel were thoroughly cleaned. Mulch was added to the amphitheater, the stage and benches were swept, cabin screens were repaired, mattresses were hauled, cleaned with bleach, and placed in the cabins. Pine needles were swept off the cabin roofs. Wood was cut, hauled, and stacked. The sports cage was cleaned and organized, and the sports equipment was inventoried and repaired. Supplies were purchased and distributed all over camp. Tool storage racks were installed in both shower houses and in the kitchen. Improvements were made in the curtain hanging system in both multi-purpose bathrooms. Food supplies were purchased/donated, delivered, and put away after the kitchen and multi-purpose storage areas were thoroughly cleaned. Heavy rains prevented mowing and brush hogging, but weed eating was done. Many other projects were completed during the past year. Don Spencer graded the camp roads/parking lot and laid down new gravel. A new finish mower was purchased. More work was done on the director’s cabin. Jim King took care of installing the bathroom and Marc and Vicki Leach finished the walls and ceiling. Ceiling fans were installed as well as a window air conditioner. Two desks, a dorm sized refrigerator, a single bed with mattress, a clothes rack, shelves, and area rugs have been donated or purchased. Floor tile will be laid this fall. We have the frame and slats for a queen sized bed, but still need a good, clean mattress and box springs. New outdoor ceiling fans were purchased and installed in the craft facility. A new gas stove was purchased and installed including a new propane tank and gas line. Special thanks to Wilma Arthur for her stove fund-raising efforts. The trench containing the new water line that runs from the shower house to the fire pit area was filled in by Rick Barr with his bobcat. Mike McKelvey used a broadcast spreader to spread tick repellent granules over all the high traffic areas at camp and around all camp buildings. Bill Gillett and Linda Roberts worked on grooming the Miller Trail, mowed the fire pit area across the creek and spread tick repellent granules on the trail and around the fire pit. Sara Baxter did a lot of touch-up/finish painting on the craft facility, in the kitchen, and in the dining hall. Chuck Heidbreder installed a new door between the kitchen and dining hall that opens in both directions. Special thanks to Retta Sutterfield for the 42 mattresses that were donated to Little Prairie by Phelps County Regional Medical Center. Mike McKelvey and Bill Gillett delivered them to camp. David Hodges has been donating his expertise as a logger as well as his personal equipment to begin to clean up our woodlands. He has been thinning trees and taking down dead trees to improve the health of our forest. Special thanks go out to the groups of teens from Overland Park, Salem, and Licking who worked to haul and stack firewood, dig trenches, groom trails, trim brush, weed the volleyball court, and help clean the facilities. Also special thanks to the teens from Fairview Road who scrapped and painted the superstructure of the craft facility. It now looks great and is protected from rust. Eight walkie-talkies were purchased for camp use. A new pressure tank had to be installed in the shower house. First-aid kits were purchased and placed in the director’s cabin, both the girl’s and boy’s shower houses, and in the craft facility. New desk chairs were donated by the Highway E church of Christ. Thanks to Don Riley and Marc Leach for hauling these and placing them in the chapel. No more splinters from those old wooden chairs which made good kindling for our warming fires during Family Work camp. Thanks to Kathy and Larry Mazzeo for the donation of the dryer. We hired Ray Falkenrath from Rolla to repair the refrigerators and to recondition the refrigerators in the dining hall so they were operational. Chuck Heidbreder installed a new outlet so these could be plugged in and used as back-ups. Work to be done: We are still dealing with our leaky roof on the multi-purpose building. A new roof may be in our near future plans. We are also in the process of pouring a new concrete pad to create a walkout patio on the east end of the multi-purpose building as well as for the dumpster. We also plan to enclose the dumpster with a privacy fence. We need to install some cove base at the craft facility to protect the walls from mop water and we would like to re-stain the caretaker’s house. So much of the work at camp is done by volunteers who serve God so unselfishly in this ministry. On behalf of the site maintenance committee we thank you all! -------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
